About the challenge

The Triple H Hackathon is a Houston-centered, 7-day offline and 1-day in-person hackathon hosted by teens, for teens. Competitors aged 19 or younger are invited to join and compete at no cost. The hackathon theme for this 2026 chapter will be "a more efficient way to live", where teenagers will be able to come together in groups of 1-4 to engineer their creative spin on a project that boosts efficiency in day-to-day life. They can showcase this by either programming or participating in pitching a product, app, or business. The goal of this hackathon is primarily to provide high schoolers with an opportunity to showcase their skills on a large platform and connect with a community of like-minded people.

Get started

To compete in this hackathon, teen participants (13-19) must be able to code a demonstration of a product or generate an idea within the 8-day time frame (7 days of offline hacking, 1 day in-person hackathon at venue), and be able to attend the venue and display their product to a panel of judges that will grade each idea based on a rubric. 

• Functionality / Build Quality (30%)
  Does the product at least count as a MVP (Minimum Viable Product), or not? How well thought out and put-together the build is.
• Value & Impact (25%)
  On what scale the product affects society, or how effectively it narrows down on a single problem. If it can be seen as valuable by potential customers or investors.
• User Experience (20%)
  How intuitive the product is to use. Encompasses visual design, accessibility, and polishing.
• Creativity / Originality (15%)
  How unique the project is. Has it been done before, or have there been similar concepts?
• Presentation Quality (10%)
  How clearly does the presentation showcase the project, its purpose, and the other key points? What impression does the overall presentation give the judge?
